Set the scene…
For the scripture reading, we are in the temple courts of Jerusalem, where Jesus is set to teach a group of people around him. At this point in Jesus’ ministry, many religious groups are trying to catch him in blasphemy against the law of Moses.

Picture the religious leaders interrupting Jesus as they bring a woman before the group. A surge of emotions arise: surprise from those listening to Jesus, indignation from the scribes and Pharisees, fear and embarrassment from the woman—and in the midst of it all, a sense of calm from Jesus.
