About Melissa

Hi, I’m Melissa—I'm so glad you are here...

I’ve always loved stories; I tend to learn best when a narrative is involved. While I have my share of personal stories to tell—of loss, disappointment, joy and restoration—I feel called to share stories on a much grander scale. I want to highlight the significant stories of Scripture: from eyewitnesses of Jesus to those who preceded and followed him. These stories matter because they point to the most significant story of all: the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

My first series explores women in the Gospels, the early church, and beyond. By experiencing their stories, we see them in a new light—one that informs how we perceive and support women in the church today. My intention isn't to tell you what to believe, but to guide you in your own journey of discovery and advocacy. At the heart of it all is a desire for us to experience Jesus in a fresh way together.

A little about me...

My husband and bonus kids call me Mel. We live in northeast Florida, where our dachshund, Addi, runs the household. My background includes over a decade of vocational ministry in non-denominational churches across the Southeast. I hold a Master of Arts in Theology and Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary and am completing my Doctor of Ministry program at Portland Seminary.

Significant Stories is my doctoral project, birthed from a conviction that congregations need both men and women to creatively address the challenges facing the Church today. I invite you to share Significant Stories with others. It's designed to be a resource for church attendees, small groups, ministry staff, and anyone curious about faith in Jesus.
